$ 1 Million PowerBall Winner Kept His Promise

$ 1 Million PowerBall Winner Kept His Promise

winggdEric Hale, 45 years old from Bend, Oregon promised his younger brother since childhood that if ever won the lottery he would share it with his brother.
“I never thought the day would come that I would have to fulfill this promise, but I always dreamed big,” said Eric. When he checked the numbers, he remembered his promise to his brother from when they were children, and he immediately called him and told him the news.
This was the first call he made. The younger brother, Quinn, now 43 yrs old, who  lives in Yakima, Washington, simply could not believe what happened to his big brother. “I still am in shock even though we have the cheques,” the younger brother said. “This is beyond cool. I never believed he would actually do it.” He guessed five numbers in the September 24 lottery.
Eric has been playing the lottery for 20 years. The winning numbers were: 7-14-21-24-41 with strong number 26. The award is not  immediately paid out,  first winners must have a consultation meeting with investment advisors.
Taxes amounted to $335,000. Eric intends to use his winnings to pay for a master’s degree in clinical counseling. He is also going to China for a long walk and he is going to invest the rest of the money. Quinn will use his half of the winnings to pay off student loans from his doctoral studies and to make a deposit on a motor home.
Eric was asked why he had to pay his brother, “Sure, I could have headed for Costa Rica, but I kept my promise,” he said.
The next lottery PowerBall will be on Oct 22 and the jackpot is now at $110 million. Check out our chart comparing lotteries, and you too can purchase a lottery ticket in the PowerBall.
